Jane Addams Plaque (1934)

This plaque of Jane Addams (1860-1935), a social activist including women's sufferage, was commissioned to Rebeck by the Cleveland area Public Works of Art Project, a national program to help unemployed artists from the Great Depression. This image is a plaster sample prior to final casting and painting, the location of which is unknown.

That it is Rebeck's is verified in correspondence records as well as his signature above the word "ADDAMS:"
