Leonard G. Porter (est. 1950-60)
This plaque of Leonard G(raves) Porter (1806-1884) is located in the Board Room of Westlake Porter Public Library, Westlake, Ohio, a western suburb of Cleveland. Rebeck's signature is under the viewers right lapel.
The plaque honors Porter for the establishment of this beautiful state-of-the-art 75,000 square foot library. He was a community leader in the mid-1800 days of local settlement building and in his will (1884) bequeathed his personal library as well as $1,000 to establish a public library.
The bronze plaque is 21 x 16 inches with the bust inlay 5.5 x 6.5 inches. A plaster image is also in the Rebeck estate:
