John Marshall Plaque (1934)

This non-metalic plaque was designed for John Marshall High School in Cleveland, OH and is still on display (as of 2011). It was funded by the Public Works of Art Project, a national New Deal program to give employment to artists in the aftermath of the Depression.  A plaster cast of it was exhibited at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Exhibition of the Public Works of Art Project in March 1934.
