Sundial (1910-1911)

Among Rebeck's most notable early works is a Sundial which was fired by R. Guy Cowan. It is described in the December 12, 1914, Cleveland Topics article about R. Guy Cowan.  Cowan led his interviewer to “a sundial of terra cotta and blue inlay.  ‘This was modeled by Stephen Rebeck, one of the Art School boys’, he continued, laying his hand affectionately on it.”

This piece was exhibited in the June 1911 Cleveland School of Art Annual Exhibition. This dates the piece to the 1910-1911 academic year.
